A List
of Buddhist Lists

Buddha Item #1209 from The Buddha Gallery

Home

My partial list:

This website came out of the several things -- a Vipassana (mindfulness) meditation practice, the recent death process of my beloved cat Leona, a conversation with a friend, and the need for a final project for an html class.

Buddhism has many, many lists -- which can be quite confusing. My attempt here is to list some of the ones that have been most meaningful in my life recently.

I have intermittently interspersed my comments into this site, in order to illustrate how a meditation practice can make a difference in daily life. I have also deliberately left in some of the Pali terms -- they can be easily referenced on the internet.

My intention is that this site be of benefit to others.

With Metta:
May all beings be safe. May all beings be healthy.
May all beings be happy. May all beings live with ease.

With gratitude to:

  • Insight Meditation Center for their teachings and original source of my list.
  • Shaila Catherine who first told me that there are always people in temples around the world sending out Metta to all beings, and to keep a soft smile in my heart always.
  • Barbara Reed -- a wonderful pet intuitive.
  • The Buddha Gallery for the use of the beautiful images.
  • All the teachers who have come before and keep walking the path.
  • All the wonderful people and creatures who make such a contribution to my heart and life!
